Rowfant Trail is a woodland discovery trail exploring the varied landscape and diverse woodland areas around Rowfant.

Our Aim is to protect and improve this woodland gem. Creating a fun, inspiring way for people to enjoy the outdoors and explore our relationship with the world. Bridges, boardwalks, play interventions and picnic areas will provide ways to explore and learn along the way.

This beautiful Sussex woodland can become an important natural link for wildlife, part of the tapestry of countryside linking into the high weald area of outstanding natural beauty. Over time we will work to improve the areas which have been degraded and help to restore the biodiversity and vibrancy of this woodland.

What is Rowfant trail?

Rowfant Trail is a large and ongoing woodland management project and discovery trail. we want to invite you to see our progress while enjoying the ever changing beauty of the woodland that we experience throughout the year.

food and Drinks

Our on site Picnic area makes a wonderful setting for lunch so bring some food/snacks along to enjoy at the trail.

While not affiliated with Rowfant Trail, Centre Café is located opposite the entrance and sells a range of food and drink, please visit their Facebook page ‘Centre Cafe - Rowant’ to find out their opening days/times as these may vary to our own.

Dogs

Restrictions are in place in certain months to protect our Wildlife and Flora however, well behaved dogs on short leads are now welcome onto the trail till the end of the year.

Accessibility

The woodland forms part of a Sussex ghyll valley with steep sides and steps in places so the trail is not accessible. We hope to make parts of the trail accessible in the future.
